1. Bill McKibben
Bill McKibben is an author, journalist and environmental activist. He founded the international climate campaign, 350.org, which has organized 15,000 demonstrations in 189 countries since 2009. McKibben has been called “the planet’s best green journalist,” by “Time Magazine” and “probably the country’s most important environmentalist,” by the “Boston Globe.”
McKibeen is a strong believer that fracking will be detrimental to the environment and climate change. Bill McKibben attended the first national protest against fracking, “Stop the Frack Attack,” in Washington, D.C., on July 28, 2012, and the “Shale Gas Outrage” protest in Philadelphia, Pa., September 20, 2012. He continues to speak out extensively on the danger of natural gas drilling on climate change.

2. Food & Water Watch
Food & Water Watch is a non-profit organization that campaigns for healthy, safe food and access to safe and affordable drinking water. Food & Water Watch asserts that fracking is “inherently unsafe” and “threatens the air we breathe, the water we drink, the communities we love and the climate on which we all depend.” Food & Water Watch helps citizens and activist groups learn about fracking in their area and how to take action against natural gas companies.

3. Kathleen Kane
Kathleen Kane made history this past November by being the first woman to be elected as the Attorney General of Pennsylvania. Kane took a strong stance against fracking in Pennsylvania during her campaign and plans to use her new office as a means of protecting Pennsylvanians from natural gas drilling. Kane asserted:
We need to make sure that the Attorney General’s Office has the resources necessary to protect Pennsylvanians and our environment from the dangers of fracking and ensure our environment is not destroyed by the natural gas “gold rush” going on throughout our Commonwealth today.
Kathleen Kane takes office January 15, 2013, and will begin her attack against the natural gas industry.

4. Marcellus Protest
Marcellus Protest is an alliance of Pennsylvania anti-fracking organizations and concerned citizens. Marcellus Protest’s efforts are focused on banning natural gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale region and stopping the harm caused to the environment and communities by fracking. On November 2010, Marcellus Protest held its first demonstration with more than 500 attendees. Since then Marcellus Protest has continued to hold protests and rallies, film screenings, fundraising efforts as well as advocate for legislation to ban shale gas drilling.
